Holly Smith Pedlosky Instructor and Founder ItalyPhotoWorkshops.org Holly Smith Pedlosky, teacher and artist-photographer, earned a B.A. from Harvard University, a M.A. from the University of Colorado, and a M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Holly currently teaches digital photography at Lesley Seminars at Lesley University/Art Institute of Boston and leads photography workshops in Italy for International Center of Photography in NYC. She co-founded and taught at Northeastern University’s digital photography program in Venice, Italy. Holly’s work has been internationally exhibited and her photographs are represented in many collections. Her current work explores Italian spaces using panoramic composite images and she continues to document the dying art of hanging laundry in Venice, Italy, and the women who hang it. Holly started her photographic life shooting large format B&W images, but years of living in Venice, Italy convinced her to shoot color transparencies. Once Holly discovered the ease and beauty of making prints from slides with digital printers, a digital camera purchase was inevitable—the next step in her artistic liberation. She has no regrets. Holly speaks Italian and takes pleasure in introducing photographers to the delights of connecting with Italy. Also visit pedlosky.org. |
